Welcome to the Funeral Celebrant Day site – funeral celebrants, it’s your day!
THE COUNTDOWN TO FCD26 IS ON…
Whichever flavour of funeral celebrant you are (independent, humanist, or spiritual), wherever in the world you are based, this is your day and your chance to directly engage with your local community to communicate information about funerals – and promote your services – as you join with other celebrants nationally/internationally in raising awareness of our role.
You’re invited to schedule content across social platforms at noon local time on Funeral Celebrant Day using the year’s hashtags to increase our collective visibility (let’s get us trending!), and also to organise events within your area, either on or around the day, as works for you.
In 2026, Funeral Celebrant Day is on Friday 20th November. It runs every third Friday in November – so pop it in your recurring calendar!

THE BADGE
To kickstart those conversations, and jazz up your lapel, we’ve created a natty badge for you to wear.
There’s no date, so you can wear it all November, all year if you like. It’s an easy way to spread the word about your services and FCD.
It’s £5. That covers UK inland postage, and includes a contribution towards the costs of running this website and Coffin Club bits and bobs. Please allow up to a week for processing and delivery. Last orders 15th November.
PLUS! Everyone buying a badge before noon 15th November will go into a prize draw to win a Funeral Celebrant Day mug. No purchase necessary – free entries: email dawnkempcelebrant@gmail.com with the subject line ‘FCD mug draw’ and leave your name and postal address in the body. No monetary value or alternative prize is offered, nor will any correspondence be entered into. The winner will be notified on w/c 16 November.

Here’s a quick overview of this year’s campaign.
A press release template based on this year’s theme is attached below, ready for you to circulate in the week or so before FCD.
The aim is not to share it as is (no likes a cookie cutter funeral celebrant, right?), but for you to adapt the title, text and examples to suit, and include 2 or 3 images of your choice – including one of yourself to attract press interest. Feel free to use one from the resources as long as you credit the photographer.
You may wish to collaborate with celebrants close by to ensure there is not duplication within your area, or agree to issue a joint release.
